Rick's aviation journey began in the cockpit of the F-14 Tomcat, where he served as a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) and Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. Flying one of the most iconic fighter jets ever built, Rick mastered air combat tactics, advanced weapons systems, and high-stakes decision-making at supersonic speeds—skills that would shape his approach to leadership and innovation for decades to come.

After transitioning from active duty, Rick built an extraordinary career in technology, leading engineering and product organizations at some of the world's most influential companies—PayPal, Amazon, Microsoft, and beyond. As CTO, he spearheaded technology transformations that resulted in over $2.2 billion in successful exits, including Innovyze's $1B acquisition by Autodesk and Spireon's $530M exit. He also helped lead Impinj to a successful IPO, building IoT platforms that connected millions of devices worldwide.

Today, Rick is the Founder & CEO of Bluumly, an AI-powered digital marketing platform empowering small businesses to compete in the digital age.
